Tonanziht Aguas is a fourth-year undergraduate student at Rutgers University – Newark, double majoring in Economics and Political Science with a minor in History. Her current research interests include the subfields of labor economics, environmental economics, and economic inequality, and she is keen on exploring the intersection between economics and public policy. Previously, she interned at the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education, New America, and the Rutgers University International Institute for Peace. Tonanziht, having committed to a future in public service, seeks to utilize her passion for economics to uplift underserved communities and interrupt cycles of disparities. She intends to pursue a Ph.D in economics for herself and for her community in Passaic, NJ.
