Dr. Ceren Baysan is an Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Essex and an affiliate of the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). She is a political and development economist. Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University, the International Crisis Group, and Empirical Studies of Conflict Project. In 2018, Ceren received a PhD in agricultural and resource economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
