Albert D. Nyuangar, Jt. is the Policy and Research Associate for Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) Liberia office. Before joining IPA, he served as Director of the Tax Appeals Board of Liberia, a tax dispute resolution body that promotes fairness and equity in the tax system. He provided technical support on disputed cases, helped drive effective tax policy, and managed administrative operations from 2011 to 2017. He also consulted with Doing Business, the International Finance Corporation’s global flagship report, where he researched improving comparative tax policy. Albert holds a Master’s degree in International Development Policy from Duke University, specializing in international tax policy, development policy, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Liberia. Having experienced how cutting-edge research evidence affects policy choices, particularly for developing countries and marginalized groups, Albert is considering pursuing a PhD to contribute to improving the livelihoods of marginalized population.
